If there’s one constant, it’s that people are a creative bunch.
After college, several friends and I moved to San Francisco to start jobs. We were barely getting paid a living wage, and San Francisco back then wasn’t that much cheaper than it is now. Two of my friends didn’t want to waste their hard-earned money on something as boring as furniture, but they needed someplace to sit. Their solution, since they ordered pizza virtually every night (indispensable things like pizza were solidly in the budget), was to fashion a couple chairs and a coffee table from old pizza boxes – which, when rolled up and duct-taped together, are amazingly stable.
On the other end of the technology spectrum, people have figured out that they can use GPS satellite networks for such innovative applications as measuring earthquakes and warning about tsunamis – uses that the original creators of the networks never would have predicted.
Somewhere between pizza box furniture and GPS networks lies DevonWay technology, and even that’s being used in ways we never anticipated when we first designed the platform. From highly configured cost savings modules to creditor applications that generate court documents, a running theme is that no two businesses (and the applications they need to do their most critical functions) are the same.
If you’re using DevonWay software in a way that you think is special and unique, please let us know. With your permission, we’d love to share your idea with other customers who might be able to benefit from your creativity.
