Last week we held our DevonWay User Summit in Philadelphia, PA and it was our largest and best one yet. Users, administrators, and module builders joined us from all over the U.S., Canada, and the UAE for the training and benchmarking. And with a growing team, we had DevonWay employees come from San Francisco, Portland, Austin, Charlotte, Idaho Falls, and more.
Here are 5 key takeaways that we learned from this year’s event:
Course 1020 voted most valuable session
Course 1020 (Advanced BI) was unanimously helpful for both new and longtime users of DevonWay. One of our power users said, “No matter how many times I have learned these skills, it always helps to go over them again.”
Benchmarking is key
No matter what industries our customers are a part of or what applications they use, benchmarking will always be a common value for everyone. Next time we’ll include even more opportunities to support this with dedicated open forum discussion times and an extra half day for more face time with everyone.
Workspace matters
This year we worked with Convene to put on our event and we couldn’t have been more pleased with it. The venue had everything in one place and gave us the ability to pull together anything we needed quickly and efficiently – a value that we take to heart with our products as well.
A warm, tropical location
Nothing says training and benchmarking like a piña colada on a warm Hawaii beach.
Okay, maybe this isn’t the most realistic destination. But with our last two summits being in Chicago and Philly, our next one will likely be somewhere warm on the west coast.
More focused events coming soon
Overall, the feedback we received on the 2019 User Summit was fantastic and we plan to continue hosting this annual event. However, because these larger summits tend to be more broadly focused with general platform training workshops, we’ve decided to add more focused events by industry or application. We’re excited to try the first one this summer!
